ECA held its annual conference "Back to Business" the past weekend in Madrid and elected its first female president, actress and stage director Kolbrun Halldorsdottir from Iceland. See the press release! 15 November 2011.

ECA has written a letter to the prime minister of Slovakia in order to support the Slovak artists' mobilization against a proposal to abolish a 40% tax-free allowance for artists and cultural workers. 13 October 2011.

After the terrorist bombs in Madrid 11th of March, anonymous threats has been forwarded to the Union of Actors, being part of the anti-war movement. ECA has sent a letter of support 12th of March 2004

The artists' umbrella of Sweden, Swedish Joint Committee for Literary and Artistic Professionals (KLYS), has joined ECA. January 2004.

The conference on the status of the artist in Eastern and Central Europe in Vilnius agreed on a declaration. November 2003.

The recently formed Maltese Artists Council became a new member in ECA at the Annual Congress 8. September.

ECA's annual conference 6-7 Sept "Artists Sharing without Frontiers - Networking in the Enlargement Process" was concluded by a resolution on know-how transfer and cultural diversity

At its meeting in Copenhagen 6-7th of September the Executive Committee made a statement on the EU Convention process and a

comment on the Study on Mobility and free movement of people and products in the cultural sector, which also will be discussed by the Council of Ministers in november.

ECA has denounced the sentence of the Iranian journalist and film critic Siamak Pourzand in a letter to Iranian state leader Al Khamenei and Minister of Justice Hashemi-Shahrudi

Lithuania: National report 17.11.2000

ECA held its 6th Annual Congress in El Escorial, Spain 17th of November. Among other items 4 resolutions were adopted:

- To the members of the Legal Affairs Committee of the European Parliament on the proposed resale right directive

- To the Ministers of Cultural Affairs an the Council of Ministers on the national support to film production

- Concerning radio and TV transmission in Sami language in Norway

- Concerning loss of influence for the artists in the supporting structures for Sami culture and arts
